Love Grows
Love Grows depicts several coral oil painted oriental poppies. Oriental poppies are a major attractor of bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The top portion shows this with the small charcoal velvet honey bees floating within a deep teal sky. The bottom portion of the canvas is covered in copper leafing that is floating upwards. One of these bees is surrounded in this copper leaf, and is carrying his pollen, ready to spread his love. Love Grows is about how the bees spread their love, but also about the idea of love itself and how we as humans spread it about and how that love can grow within us and take flight.
Honey Bees are the main pollinators for agriculture, supplying the world's nutrition. But, pesticides, drought, habitat destruction, nutrition deficit, air pollution, global warming and more are killing them at an alarming rate. We need bees and they need us. A portion of the sale will go to the Pollinator Partnership.

The green, leatherback, and hawksbill sea turtles are classified as an endangered species. A portion of the proceeds fo this sale will go to Sea Turtle Conservancy

Monarchs are one of the most recognized and studied butterflies in the world but their numbers are down by about 90%. Most of this is due to loss of habitat. Milkweed is the only food source for monarch caterpillars and it is disappearing from both land development and the widespread spraying of weed killed on agricultural fields. To help contribute to their protection, a portion of this sale will go to Save Our Monarchs.
